PotC - opening day!
Okay, anyone going to see Pirates of the Carribean today? I'd like to see it but I think I'll wait for a weekend matinee. Saw Finding Nemo LAST weekend on an evening showing - $9 a ticket! ouch!
Chicago Tribune gave it 2 and a half stars, though actually the review made it sound better than that. Not that I pay THAT much attention to reviews, but hey.

Going to (hopefully) see Nemo on Thursday eve..... only costs $1 to get in the home town theatre during the week.. and $2 for adults on the weekend....
(Theatre is run by volunteers and only the manager is paid..... small town living at its best.. )
Would love to see Pirates....

There's a place around here that isn't high tech, but always includes small drink and popcorn in ticket price. I haven't gone there yet, I usually get seduced by the 'techie' theaters and pay for it. :P

Doesn't that belong in that sandwich thread?

I think that only works if you digitally superimpose yourself onto the screen WITH them, in this case.

My daughter and I plan to go see it the next opportunity we have. My little one doesn't want to see it because of the skeletons, so I have to wait until we have a sitter.

Local pizza theater here will get my business on Friday...the first night they're showing Pirates.
For this Disney/Depp fan, I'm really looking forward to the movie. Now if the theater only sold beer along with the pizza, we'd be talking a heavenly encounter!

I'll just wait for the DVD rental. Never much of a pirate fan myself.
Also...is it just me seeing it, or does Johnny Depp wear major amounts of eye liner in the previews on TV??

We DID have a "premium" theater around here (next to one of the malls) that offered valet parking, champagne with the movie, etc. Not sure if they're still in business though.

dadist, our pizza theater is a run down old moviehouse with it's old BIG screen still intact! It's a wonderful place to go and sit in old fashioned comfort.
BCG, yeah, it does look like the Deppster is wearing lots of eyeliner.
I'm not really a Pirate fan so to speak, but being that the movie has the feel of POTC from Disneyworld, I'm easy. Anything Disney turns my crank. LOL
