Just heard from Lixy
Got an email from Lixy yesterday. She's doing fine. As many of you know, her sister has a number of serious medical conditions and recently they have caused a great deal of anxiety and stress. Lixy and her hubby are spending a lot of time traveling to be at her side and to help her sister's family cope with the problems.
Lixy said she was sorry that there really hasn't been time to even get on the computer to let folks know. We've been calling her house several times expressing our concern that maybe something had happened to them and that's why she took the time to respond. She asked everyone's forgiveness for beng gone but promised when it's possible, she'd be back.

Please, keep her and her family in your prayers. This is a difficult time for them.
Lixy, to you and yours ... our heartfelt prayers and good thoughts!

dicksbro,
Thanks for the update. Lixy's doing the right thing, and no apologies are necessary. We will still be here when she returns. Please pass along my wishes and hopes for a speedy and acceptable resolution.

Thanks for the update, DB. I hope all the "fine" note aren't just social quickies.

When personal problems took a toll in my life, I had to take an extended sabbatical from pixies while I finished herding the earthworms...when I came back, I was welcomed with open arms by all (or at least by all I really cared about ) ...please let Lixy know, if you get the chance, she can expect the same treatment when she's able & ready to return.

God bless her, I've heard from Lixy again ...
Lixy just sent us a terrific note bringing us up-to-date on her sister.
Her sister no longer communicates effectively. Lixy and her family read simple things to her sister, but her sister's attention span is quite short.
The kids my wife takes care of in a Before and After Care program did a lot of cards for her sister and we mailed those to her. I guess her sister can no longer read but she was so happy to look at the wonderful and colorful pictures the kids did. These young children are terrific! They ask about Lixy's sister and pray together for her every day. It's the way things ought to work. No wonder our Lord said that it's of such as these that the kingdom of heaven is made.
Her sister hasn't been able to come home yet ... not since her last seizure and a blod clot in her lungs. The clot has lessened but it's still scary. She can't walk any more, so Lixy and her family help stimulate the legs and exercising them.
Lixy misses Pixie's so very much. She simply hasn't had much time to spend at the computer and feels bad about that. But, we're grateful that she took the time to send us this note and kindly said that I could share highlights of it with everyone here.
From Lixy ... hugs and kisses and hugs and more kisses!
Lixy ... the same from us to you!

Thanks for the update DB!
I loved hearing about the cards the kids made and how they ask about Lixy's sister and pray for her. Very cool!

Cheers for this DB.
Aqua - Those kids made and sent (well, DB did) a whole bunch of cards to my dad, when he was in hospital with the cancer that killed him, over 2 years ago now. Ill as he was, it brought tears to his eyes, and he wasn't a man to cry easily even then.
It is an awesomely wonderful thing Mrs DB is part of there.
