This is not so much to add anything as it is in wonderment.My wife
took today off from work.I went to Wal*Mart,this morning,to catch
up on some needed things.When I got home,my wife was incredulous,she was watching a General,being interviewed on TV.
He was giving an update,on the situation,in Iraq.She said that 1/2
way thru the interview,they cut away,to show Michael Jacksons,
mother & father,arriving at court.With all of the hub-bub about Iraq,how could they even think,that peoples main concern,was
Jacko? Irish
P.S.No explaination,warning or anything.They just cutaway!Does
anyone understand things like this?

I don’t think you are ready for the truth Irish.

It’s the fault of the same people that made Michael Jackson possible and a reality. It’s US! It’s the people! They will do ANYTHING that will SELL! They will put anything in your face, every opportunity they get. That’s their job. That’s the way it works. The real question is what do THE PEOPLE really want? What will they reach into their pocket and pay for? They go to the place where the money is and present anything that will get a part of it, and that’s what your wife saw happen.

They go to the PUBLIC!

Like it or not, YOU are part of the public. You are part of the whole that has the money that their job is to get. Did you look at what was on the rack in the check-out line at Wal-Mart? I call it the “Check-out Monitor”. What is in those racks is NOT an accident. It’s the VERY carefully planned and monitored Product-placement / Floor-space / Profit ratio that fills those racks. You will ONLY see the things that your neighbor, your fellow shopper, the average, normal, everyday guy, John Q. Public will pick-up and pay for because he is trapped in the line for an extra minute to check out. It’s the society you are a citizen of, that makes it possible for an athlete to be paid multi-million dollars for playing a game or an entertainer to become an icon that you will give a $100 bill to see from a cheap seat. It’s the people that create and support all the Michael Jacksons. It’s US!

When you see Discovery, instead of the National Enquirer in the racks, you may not have actual global event reports interrupted by a celebrities antics.
