The local electric companies just issued an appeal for people to reduce electricity consumption as much as possible from 2-8 pm for the summer. They say there is no problem but are being proactive. Makes me suspicious...

My house has 2ft. thick brick walls covered with stucco...so we don't use an AC! *ducks*

If we keep the shades down and the ceiling fans on it stays so cool in here that you'd think it was conditioned...but it ain't! And...we have a "whole house fan" that we put in the guest bedroom window and it sucks all the cool air up and the hot air out!
