				Two Minute Teaching/Coaching

I need to come up with some sort of activity that I can teach or coach to someone in less than two minutes ... any ideas from the creative pixies? |

	| Ummm... adults, it's a career training bit where I have to as an ice breaker type thing teach something in two minutes. Anything goes, so long as it's ummmm work appropriate. |

	| Take 2 people from the group, give them each four quarters, show them "paper scissors rock" and get the rest to write down how many turns they think it'll take before one of them has lost their money.
I don't know what it proves or teaches, except it takes up time.

	| Teach them some of the "tricks" to multiplication (like doing the nines on your fingers) or I have some songs for algebraic equations if you want them.or
 Teach them a magic trick.

	| Pass out a half dozen potatoes and a box of soda straws. Show them a sample with a straw stuck through a potato and ask them to do the same without doing anything to the potato first. Just poke it through.
The “trick”, is to hold a finger over the end of the straw as you *STAB* the straw in a straight line, with a full arm swing, into the target. The physics is simply the compressed gas (air) inside the straw causes the wall to become as ridged as steel pipe, with a razor thin edge. It’s very easy with today’s plastic straws and can even be done with the old wrapped paper ones.

The lesson is “What appears improbable is easy when you know how”.

If a couple pictures would help, I can take them when I get a few minutes.

NOTE:
(Poke straight!!! They’ll go through your hand too. )

	| Know anything about oragami <sp?>? Naaaaaa...me either, but you can give them a piece of paper (any size) and tell them to try and fold it in half more than 7 times (I think that's the limit). It can't be done! There must be a paper folding site out there to tell you why it can't be done...but I know it's mathematical. And, if you can't find a site to tell you why...you might stumble across a beginners oragami site in the search...lol!
 Sorry...I tried!

	| ok, here is a quick and easy way to teach someone the mechanics of juggling with out them injuring themselves or others with heavy flying objects.
you know those really light scarves that old ladies wear to protect their hair from the wind? They are the super light weight kind and when you toss them up in the air, they slowly float down. I believe you can find these light scarves at wal-mart or target. these will allow those that are slower reflexed to be able to alternate toss and grab.

start off with one hand throwing one scarf in the air and having a scarf in the same hand and as the 1st one is falling throw the 2nd in the air then drop the hand daown to grab the 1st. then switch to the other hand. takes but a few seconds to practice like that and then you can go into the proper juggling technique of three scarfs and two hands

not messy, and no one will mind if they get hit on the head with a light scarf..

Then it’s going to have to be a mental exercise you can do naked in front of the class.Quote:

	| Teach them to remember people's names by repeating the name when you meet someone, and using some associative reasoning to remember their name.
