More than I can swallow

While I know that the founders are quite liberal. I'm not quite sure if they are ready for this.

*wonders about new flavor names*

scotzoidman 09-23-2008 11:01 PM

Nup. Nup. Nup.

Not even gonna let myself think about it.

Oldfart 09-24-2008 03:48 AM

PETA in it's full cry.

They are bizarre people.

It's a failing of mine.

FlirtWithMe 09-24-2008 05:56 AM

Given the amount of milk a cow produces compared to a human I can't help wondering how PETA thinks this is a practical solution. Surely the huge amount of money that would be spent buying off the lactating women could go some way to providing a better environment for the cows.

Organically produced milk from free-to-roam, grass-eating, happy cows would be a kinder milk to use than non-organic, and I would have thought that economically it would be a much more practical solution than using human milk :)

Oldfart 09-24-2008 06:23 AM

They don't see it as practical. It's a mind game to draw attention to the cows.

jseal 09-24-2008 06:30 AM

I am trying to visualize this in production ... :)

Oldfart 09-24-2008 06:43 AM

Keeping abreast of the milking revolution?

jseal 09-24-2008 07:35 AM

Willing to lend a hand, or two.

Oldfart 09-24-2008 07:41 AM

Yes, it tugs at the heart-strings and other things.

wyndhy 09-24-2008 08:07 AM

:roflmao:

it took me about 15-20 minutes to pump about 8 or 9 ounces.
1 qt of good ice-cream takes about 40 oz milk and cream.

at US min wage (5.85/hr) that would mean about, what? a little less than 15 bucks or so, just in milking time. (fyi, i suck at math.:p that might be off) plus the commodity cost. OMG! would it be a commodity? will we trade in mammary glands? lmao. of course, let down takes at least and hour between pumpings so add on another several hours of idle pay, and diet is important (and regulated by the dept of ag, i believe) so add on a decent per diem for nutritious food. and drug testing. man, these costs are gonna trickle down

that's some pricey milk. we should outsource.

Jude30 09-24-2008 05:59 PM

I'm pretty damned liberal, but PETA annoys the ever living crap out me.

BamaKyttn 09-24-2008 08:49 PM

I was at one point co director for a Breed specific rescue organization, I gentled and trained both my horses, rarely use a saddle, don't own a bit for either my mare or my stallion, but I eat meat, I use leather, I feed most of my dogs meat based food as well as my cats (two of whom are declawed)

I kinda start out sounding like someone that would be PETA friendly. If I could rid the world of peta support in one intellectual swoop I would.

Human teats to the test!

This is udderly ridiculous.

wyndhy 09-24-2008 08:51 PM

*snorts*

BamaKyttn 09-24-2008 08:56 PM

*hands Wyndhy a tissue* you ok dear?

wyndhy 09-24-2008 08:59 PM

yes, i just felt moooooooved to laugh.

BamaKyttn 09-24-2008 09:11 PM

the main problem I see with their argument is this..... at least SOME bull calves have to live to procreate....while I do admit I refuse to eat commercial veal....actually I rarely eat commercial beef....my family raises enough moo-tao's to keep about 4-5 and have 2 for slaughter every year or two. there have been accidents and a 1 year old steer has been slaughtered b/c of injuries suffered during extraction from a sink hole. yes. I live out beyond the boonies. I've also seen the fuckin bag these dairy cows get on them, and seen the relief on their faces when they step into their milking stalls and the cups go on, think about it in terms of having to pee.... you hold it in butit starts to hurt after a bit..... Milkin the bitches is more humane than letting them get fever from not being milked. as for forcing them to get pregnant......... ok in the wild, do you think the bull goes over and says you know you're in estrus but I don't feel like havin another set of hooves on this pasture this season....? noooooooooooooooooooooooo lol

fucking retards

wyndhy 09-24-2008 09:29 PM

you mean petards.:D

Pita 09-24-2008 10:31 PM

The breast is best!

I'm trying to think of the advertising it would take to get consumers to flock to their local Ben & Jerry's or grocery store and get themselves a pint of....hmm...what will the name of this new and tasty desert be? And what will the add in be? Bits of cherry to resemble nipples? Swirls of blue raspberry to remind of us of the delicate veins in a mother's breast?

You mean that engorged state that reminded a co-worker of 2 giant bloodshot eyes staring at you? :roflmao:

Scarecrow 09-24-2008 11:34 PM

well I will take the job of testing the product at the source.

Eros 09-25-2008 01:30 AM

they worry about the baby cows without milk, what about the baby humans that have to drink formula that they could be allergic to because mommy pumped out all her milk to pay bills?

citrus 09-25-2008 04:37 AM

:cboy: I'm kinda thinkin the PETA people have been sniffin the web at www-bigboobs-bra and started lettin the cows watch the hens lay egg-beaters? :cock:

I'll take a pint of Hubby's Chubby, please.

Pita 09-25-2008 08:27 AM

^^^^^And we have our name folks!!! :D

Salacious 09-25-2008 08:51 PM

Think of all the employed women in VT... think of all the money they could make for paid tours of the new milk house. Sounds like a couple Pixies would make the trek to watch and lend a hand in production and milk collection.

jseal 09-25-2008 09:03 PM

:rofl::rofl: I agree with Tess, there's the name :thumb:

Another thing I thought of that's so ridiculous about this is that to get the flavor right every time, they'd have to give the mothers special diets so they were all eating the same thing, otherwise, whatever the mothers ate would affect that batch of milk, and likewise affect that batch of ice cream. It just wouldn't work *shakes head*

^^^ I have no evidence to substantiate that, btw, it's just an assumption :D

:)

scotzoidman 09-26-2008 08:49 PM

I believe that is true...certainly the production workers would have to give up onions & garlic, at the very least...
