It was three weeks ago Friday that I had the teeth removed and a couple of times in the last week I've had something I found really strange happen. Very small pieces of bone have come out of the socket on my lower right side. Called the oral surgeon and his nurse told me it's not that uncommon and not to worry.

It doesn't hurt or anything but just sort of freaked me out. Anybody else have this happen?

:yikes: nope. That would have freaked me out too

It's just the craziest thing, these little chips of bone (I think there have been 4 of them now) that somehow find their way out. The surgeon said it's "nature's way" of reshaping the ridge. Whatever the hell that means.

Yep, had that happen to me too, but over a year later. I kept feeling a weird bump that I worried with my tongue which finally got to be sharp. I kept bothering it until a small bone fragment worked its way out.

Yep, that's pretty much exactly what's happening with me Chey. Sharp little buggers!

Stop fretting and enjoy the extra room!! :weg:

Not really all that enjoyable the last couple of days. There seems to be a really sharp edge of bone that is at the very edge of poking through the gum and it's bugging the hell out of me.

Your mouth is morphing? Awww, the better to eat m... :D Umm it will be fine! Really.

sodaklostsoul 09-09-2007 11:29 PM

Ya, it will work out more with time. Took years for mine to stop and it seldom happens now.

It took like a year for my bone to be good and covered by the gum. It really did hurt til then as well. Wisdom teeth and all that go with are the devil. =\ Hope you feel better soon.

IowaMan 09-10-2007 02:56 PM

Thanks babybunny. :)

And Sal........... well, you're just trying to get me to come up and see ya. ;)

When you say, "years" Soda, what are we talking there? :yikes:

What they're saying is, "it hurts sometimes".

I just got three fillings in one tooth. It hurts sometimes.
