There is much power and money in getting the American People to see you as a victim. Even if you individually are not a victim, if you can assert membership in a class or group of people who can be identified as victims, then you are entitled to a piece of whatever compensation is "justly" due to the group to make them whole again. I am, alas, not inventing this. It is contemporary legal theory. |
